It’s demolition week, and the cats and I have been sealed up in my bedroom as the house literally shakes to the rafters. A plastic curtain, complete with zippered doorway keeps out (some of) the dust and prevents the cats from getting lost in the walls:
The kitties are handling the disruption pretty well, although Kisa had to go to the vet because some dust (when we were packing last week) got in her eye and scratched her cornea. She’s recovering quickly. Boo, of course, is curious about everything:
It’s pretty amazing to watch the progress of the demolition, so here are some before and after pictures (not always from the same angle, since we didn’t plan this out in advance).
The living/dining room space:
Still to go: the wood flooring on the first floor and the kitchen sink! Next week the back wall will be removed, and some windows installed. Work will start on Maria’s room as well, so she’ll have to be living in our “kitchen” for a few weeks. Patience is required from us all.
