From de-struction to con-struction

This past week saw the end of the destruction stage of our reno. The back brick wall of our kitchen, and most of Maria’s back wall were removed and a steel beam inserted to hold up our new structure.

This photo shows the beam being held up as the concrete that supports it dries.

Our new windows and doors arrived, and the flooring supplier made some preliminary measurements. But the biggest sign that the destruction is over is the departure of dumpster from our front lawn! Time to start constructing on the inside.
